Sunday morning matched Brewster against Riverside in the consolation bracket. Strong winds played havoc early but the game was tied at 5 in the 5th as both teams were pretty evenly matched. However, Brewster mustered a couple runs late and won 8-5. Matt Vonasek had his 4th hit of the weekend and Liam Ross blasted a deep doubled off the wall for Riverside but two double plays on hard hit ground balls and a line out to Short all with runners in scoring position proved to be the downfall for the Rams. Riley Distad and Jordan Nortz had timely RBI’s early for Riverside and Nortz made two fine defensive plays to keep Brewster runs from scoring in the late innings.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday vs. Priest River followed by Colville on Friday.
