Rams Battle but Come Up Short

Colville AA hosted Riverside this evening and despite a couple key components missing from the Ram arsenal, it was a hard fought game that got away from the Rams late.  Riverside scored a pair in the 1st inning on hits by Jack Ewart and Liam Ross but gave the lead back with miscues defensively.  Riverside and Colville exchanged runs in this one and went into the 6th with the game 8-5.  Jimmie Lucas two shut out innings in relief kept Riverside in the game and they scratched away but could not hold in the 7th.  “It ended not so well but there were a lot of very good things happening out there today” noted Coach Pratt.  He was referring to some clutch two out hitting, hitters moving runners over and a flow on defense that saw people moving all over the field during plays.  “There has been a lot of improvement and though we may not see it right now on the scoreboard, we will see it down the road….guaranteed” he added.

Riverside visits Chewelah on Friday for a doubleheader versus their AA squad.  Games begin at  3 pm.
