Riverside visited the Eastside Huskies at Wilburton Park in Bellevue this afternoon for Game 2 of the road trip. Eastside opened an early 1-0 lead but the Rams scored a pair in the 3rd to take the lead. The Huskies tied the score in the 5th and the game went into the 6th knotted at 2. Joe Ueno opened the top of the 6th with a single followed by a double by Brett Overby. Silas Stevens gave the Rams the lead with an RBI single and the Gabe Schott knocked in both Stevens and Riley Distad with a clutch 2 out single to left.
Hunter Kraches got the W on the mound for Riverside. He came in relief in the 3rd inning and pitched exceptionally well fighting through one threat in the 5th inning that ended when Distad threw out a would be base thief at 3rd to end the inning. Kraches was exceptional with the lead allowing just one Huskies baserunner the final two frames securing the Rams 5-2 victory.
“The team played a real clean game, we had some clutch hitting and Hunter was a real gamer today” said Coach McNaghten of his Rams who were perfect on all 16 balls hit at them today. “Was just a lot of fun to see them compete and achieve. Everyone enjoyed this one” he added.
